The 3Com® IP Telephony Module delivers the communications flexibility and ease of use that enterprises of all sizes need to increase productivity, strengthen customer interactions, and lower costs. Part of the 3Com Convergence Applications Suite, it supports both the HP VCX® and NBX® platforms.

The module facilitates business collaboration with powerful, built-in call-processing features that include voice mail, automated attendant, hunt/call groups, call detail reporting, computer telephony integration (CTI), PC-based visual voicemail/e-mail clients, and optional unified messaging capabilities. User feature programming and web-based administration simplify day-to-day operation.

To meet the needs of a mobile workforce, the module offers even casual remote workers all the services they would get at central offices without awkward call-forward functions or multiple voicemail boxes.

The IP Telephony Module cost-effectively works with business applications such as customer relationship management and call centers, enabling integration with advanced call center management, routing, monitoring, and recording components for more effective service activities. HP®, NBX® and VCX® IP telephony modules support a portfolio of HP business phones and attendant stations, all designed to lower costs, increase user productivity, and strengthen customer interactions. HP has a phone to cost-effectively fit virtually every business application — from the 3Com 3100 Entry Phone that is particularly practical for common areas to the 3Com 3103 Manager Phone with its large LCD display and Gigabit-speed network connectivity to the HP3106 and 3107 Cordless Phones that so effectively support worker mobility.

For connection flexibility, HP IP phones support two Ethernet ports-one for connecting the IP phone to the network and the other for connecting a PC to the network through the IP phone. This functionality can reduce total port-count requirements and, if the user has a laptop, form part of a company's power recovery strategy when integrated with an industry standard Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch.
